One reason I looked for a job on the California coast was a deep feeling of well-being that came over me one day as I walked along a foggy beach. Perhaps you’ve felt something similar. A sense of being completely at home. A sense that all was well and right. I hope you have a place like that, because I know the power it has in my life to restore a sense of balance, to reinforce a sense of joy, to remind me that “being” is a valid way to spend one’s time.
I don’t always have that feeling when I’m at the shore, and I’m not always at the shore when I have that feeling. Today, though, I was gifted with that experience. Sitting on a rock watching life happen - dolphins, seals, otters, pelicans, cormorants, gulls, hermit crabs, sea grass, kelp, I was grateful for creation and so grateful for the creativity and generosity of the Creator.
Wherever you are, set aside some time to seek your soul’s sustenance. Stare out the window and see what you notice. Watch a patch of earth or sky and see what passes by. I’d love to read your description, or see a photo. Let’s notice goodness and share it.
