The Chihuly museum in Seattle is a wondrous place, full of bright colors and improbable shapes. The gardens are a brilliant fusion of nature and art, enhancing each other. It reminds me that often the only thing limiting us is our lack of imagination.
How might we engage creatively with the world around us to make something new? We do not have to accept the reality we see. We have power to reimagine and create new realities. Can we imagine a world where everyone has a safe place to live, and enough food and water? Can we imagine a world where heath care is accessible and affordable for all? Can we imagine a world where we value different skin colors as much as we value all the colors in nature? Can we imagine a world where difference is celebrated rather than punished?
Imagination is the first step in creation. I’m grateful today for the chance to see the fruit of Chihuly’s imagination, and wonder how I might help build the new world I can see in mine.
