All the Colors

It's been a colorful day, so far. And I haven't even been to the tidepools. The blues and greens outside, and the oranges, reds and purples inside are a feast for the eyes. Why do we love color and diversity so much in nature? It shows us the breadth of possibility - so many things can be, all at the same time! One color is not better than another.

It is heartbreaking that we do not always appreciate the diversity of people in the same way. It seems like one would lead to the other. Wow, I love all the colors of the rainbow and all these different critters and plants! How might we build on our love of diversity in nature to be truly curious and appreciative of the diversity of humanity - color (skin, eye, hair), gender, sexuality, birth order, marital status, culture, language, on and on? Our lives can be so much richer if we approach one another with openness and curiosity.

As we slowly leave the isolation of the pandemic, we have a fresh start to engage differently with one another. Who will we see today? What is their story?
