It’s raining today. But yesterday afternoon it was warm and sunny, a perfect day to get out and enjoy the gorgeous Cascades. After a loop around the lake, my friend Anya and I sat at a picnic table and popped open our single-serving sparkling wines, and watched a small wedding get set up. You can see the reception set-up, cupcakes and Prosecco.
COVID has cancelled a lot of things. Love is not one of them. I’ve seen that saying around and I know it’s true. People are still falling in love and making commitments to each other. People are getting pregnant and having babies. Life, powered by love, goes on. And love goes on, beyond death. Love is stronger than death.
I am grateful for yesterday’s reminder of the power of love. On a random Tuesday, the sun came out and two people joined their lives in the bond of love. May it power them - and us - through all the rainy days.
